Does this sound like a good setup?
Asked my local stereo shop what could I do with a $600 budget. He suggestion was that I go with the following:
JL Audio VR650csi components 6 1/2" for the front doors
JL Audio A2150 Amplifier to power components
He mentioned that with a $600 budget that I would not be able to afford a HU after installation costs. I specifically told him that I didn't want a sub woofer but that I wanted speakers that produced good bass. How do you guys think this would sound? I may get all my products off of ebay to save and then I should be able to afford and HU, if I get an HU I will be choosing the Alpine 9856. Any suggestions are welcome and would be very much appreciated.
THIS WAS MY FIRST POST, sorry about the crappy signature!
Oh yeah, came back to add the links to JL Audio's site:

If you're willing to order products online I recommend you give www.edesignaudio.com a shot.
I have a set of edi 6500 in my wife's CR-V which sound awesome to me. Not tons of bass, but they do have very pronounced mids which I prefer more. I have not seen a lot of bass from a basic component set unless it's a 3 way setup.
See this post for the pricing I did + links.

A Nine.2x (200 watts RMS x 2 @ 4 ohms) with a set of edi 6500 will run you roughly $440 w/o shipping. That's 50 watts more than the 6500's are rated, so you could save a buck and step down to the Nine.2 which will run you just at $395 w/o shipping. You can then get the place to install and still should come out at around $50-100 cheaper.
Ways to save $$$ on a head unit you ask? www.sounddomain.com is your best friend. They have a VERY lenient 105% price match policy which generally gets acceptance/denial within 24 hours. What I do is search for something I'm looking for on their site, then use Froogle to search that model # for a cheaper price. Submit it and voila, usually you can knock $100 off a price just by doing that.
Another thing to mention is if you can find a dealer of Cadence audio products. They're great for the money if you can get a good deal on them. I paid $350 for a set of CVL-6ks which can hit a few low notes without bottoming out but still won't touch a subwoofer. They also take a lot of power without sweating and have a high sensitivity rating (all of their products have a high sensitivity rating, usually around 94-96 db).
Hope this helps you out.

Yeah, Kinetic rocks. Drop a JLW6V2 in there.
As for JL authorized, who cares, I've never heard of their stuff breaking at all. eBay is your friend.
I have to give it to JL for making absolutely killer stuff but their Microsoft strategy of business is not cool at all.
