I have mine in the top left of the windshield, facing me, protected from the wind. That way with the top down the person on the other end doesnt hear all the wind.

How difficult has it been for your to answer and hang up phone calls? Oh, and roughly how long is the mic cable?
I'm also considering this option because I have the 6-disk cd changer in the truck, and I want to be able to keep it on standby when I'm feeling nostalgic.

Thanks for sharing. I've been considering adding BT to my 2007, but wanted to keep my OEM stereo. A few options to plug a BT unit into the back of the OEM head unit, but I hadn't seen one for the trunk. I haven't looked, but hopefully I have the same plug in my trunk, too. Just ordered from Amazon and should be here in a few days. Crossing my fingers it's as easy as it sounds.

Ok...that was too easy. After locating the wiring harness behind the trunk panel you simply remove the cap on the connector and plug the BT module into it. Select "cd" on the stereo to toggle between the single cd option and the cd changer option. Pair with your phone and you're good to go.

Does anyone know if this will work with the original radio with XM, on a 2007? Thanks in advance.

Mine is a 2007 with original stereo. Shouldn’t be a problem at all.

Thanks. The factory XM receiver is in the back, I think where the CD player would go. I have to remove it to see if the connector is used for XM, or if it's still available for the CD player/adapter.

Gotcha. I believe the wiring harness in the trunk became standard in 2004 models. Since the button on the stereo toggles between XM/CD I would think you could have both at the same time. I don’t use XM so can’t confirm. Now I’m curious. Please update when you find out.

The XM radio module uses the same connector that the Bluetooth adapter would use, so unfortunately it won't work. I looked carefully and didn't see another connector, and the one that is used for XM, plugs into the Bluetooth adapter so I guess when the car was sold way back in 2007, it was either XM or CD changer, not both.

If anyone knows of a way to connect both, please let me know.
