Does anyone know for sure whether or not the new Alpine CDA 9857 can use Modifrys wired DCI or not?

Its no more difficult than wiring the rest of the radio harness in.

sakigt do you have to solder the wires or just plug and play?
and do you have to take the whole dash out?
To get behind the left controls?
What exactly do you have to remove?>

There are 4 main wires that has to be connected to the harness from the DCI. It's the same as connecting all the other wires like a normal harness. All the instructions are clearly marked when you get the DCI. I have a picture of what it all looks like all put together but I don't know if that will help

This is what my harness looks like all soldered and shrink wrapped together. Each wire was individually soldered and shrink wrapped and the whole harness was then wrapped.

It's just plug and play after that. So all the work was done outside of the car and everything was plugged in when I took out the OEM head unit.
