Critique Proposed Sound System Setup
Hello all,
Straight to the point - As with many Stewie owners, I'm looking for stronger performance out of the sound system for greater sound clarity for top down and highway driving. Following recommendations from the forum in the prior year I added the following to my AP1 in phase 1:
Alpine iDA-X305s
Alpine KCE-400BT
Modifry Dash Controls
Front Polk DB6501 Components
The upgrade was a tremendous difference, however leaves a lot to be desired with the top down and on the highway. This forum is of no help in helping me save money and the threads showing mods for SPods or the rear panel speakers have convinced me to continue upgrading...
JL Audio 300/4V2
Dynamat Xtreme for Doors
Rear Polk DB6501 Components
I'm on the fence regarding setting up the rears in the panels or as SPods. I have not heard any SPods in person, however have trouble presuming a speaker 6" behind your head would be a good idea...
I have little to no experience (the latter) with setting up a amplified system, thus any recommended reference would be appreciated as well.
Thanks in advance!

So you dont have an amp on those components? You definitely need and amp with those. They are rated to 100w rms thats what I would put to them. That will increase your volume level a ton.

i vote neither, you dont need speaker behind you......
sound deaden your doors, outer & inner skins, power your door spearks with a good clean 100w per channel and add a sub..... with xover set properly you should have an excelent sounding car.
