Default Connecting Headlight with the Ignition

Has anyone rigged up a way to connect the headlights with the ignition switch to prevent leaving it on?

Although that annoying beep seems to do it for me, you could cut the Blue/Red wire that leaves the Underhood Fuse box (for the control side of the Headlight relays) and splice it into the White on the ignition switch.

Edit: I suppose you would have to do the same for the Blue Wire that leaves the under-Dash fuse box and goes to the combo switch. It controls the tail lamps. Wouldn't want to be driving around with the headlights but not tail lights, eh?

Thanks for the reply. I don't get that beep because of my CompuStar remote starter. After I remove my keys from the ignition, the car is still running. It would only stop once I close the last door open. The underhood fusebox, is that on the passenger side or driver side?

Passenger side. Both the wires you need go to the Combination switch (headlight switch) so you might want to go there. This will of course eliminate the dimming effect of the lights being on (dimming of the dash lights I mean)

The switch on the left side of the steering column, that you turn on the headlights with. I only mentioned it because the two wires you need go there, but they originate from separate fuse boxes. Sort of a two birds one stone mindset.

Now after you cut the wires, you want to splice the side of the wires that lead to the fuse boxes to the white wire of the ignition switch. So just tape of the ends of the wires that lead to the headlight switch. If that doesn't make sense, I could mock up a picture
