For those who have kappa perfects 6.5s ...are they loud enough and clear enough to go without rear panel speakers? I will have a 10" jl audio W6 in the trunk, so i definitely will be pushing the system to its max at times.
Ive heard that the kappas are loud enough to go without rear speakers, however, i do not know what type of sub setup they were running.
In addition, to those who have rear panel speakers, how much difference does it make. It seems to me that the sound would be muffled from the seats...mine are pretty much pushed all the way back, but i can leave passenger seat a bit more forward since i usually drive the S alone, unless picking up a date.
How much sound is blocked by the seats? Does the seat not only block sound, but also delay it So that the music is distorted some?
I already heave the rear panels coming in the mail, and i have the speakers I would be putting into them; however, if i decide not to go with them, I could prob sell them back to another member, sell the door speakers, and amp pushing them as well as save some cash on gettin the extra powerful amp to push 4 speakers rather than 2.
Overall, it would save me probably ~200 bucks. But the money isnt a huge issue. Just looking for the pro/con and weighing the benefits and consequences. Thanks

oh ya, and im going to be tryin to install the system myself
and my earlier topic explains i am a complete novice...
so, it will probably also save me some aggrevation to only do 2 speakers.

you cant get a yes/no answer from this. imo, if youre putting smaller drivers in the seats (which play at higher freq).. i supose the sound will get muffled some
my boston pros have lots of "headroom"... they can go really loud, and their limitation is the low frequencies that start to distort first. because youre being supplemented with a subwoofer, you can push the filter on the kappas and play them a bit louder
personally, id stay with a 2.1 channel system

I run the Kappas by themselves, and have absolutely no issues with volume. Most people get uncomfortable with the volume actually....top down at 85mph. My sub is an Alpha 810, which is a good deal "bigger" than a W6.

im running the kappa perfects with 90 watts rms with a 10 inch kapper perfect sub....the system is louder than it needs to be.
I would save the time and money.
worse case scenario. try the 2.1 if that doesnt do it for ya install the other speakers.
GL on the install.
