I work for a Clarion dealer, great units. Superior tuner reception and easier Ipod capabilities than Eclipse. We also sell Eclipse. If you are going with amps in the future go with Eclipse simply for the higher pre out volts.

WOW! Thanks for all the info. Unfortunately for me, this HU is sold. I'm considering a new one just based on all this positive feedback..

Make sure you check out the remote controls very carefully on the unit. I have a test Clarion on my bench (for DCI work) and it pretty much sucks as far as remote controls go.

For example - when playing MP3 disks, the only way to change MP3 folders is the press a button on the HU. There is no button on the remote to change folders, other than a "Folder Scan" function that is hard to use. Sounds absurd, but that's the way it is. As a result, I can't put a "next folder" function on the DCI. Bummer.
