Default Cheaper Alterntive to modifry adapter?

Im looking to get my system installed in my ap1. Local car shops are charging $75.00 to allow me to still use my factory dash controls. Which they are prob splicing into my factoyr wiring harness. IS there a cheaper adapter that will allow me to use my factory controls with a alpine headunit? Or is modifry my only option?

In my 2nd S the car audio place I used installed something that cost about $200.00 & did less (not all the buttons worked) than the modifry did (which I had put in later)

Unless someone else pipes in - it's that/Modifry/ or use the the head unit's controls...

This topic has been done to death. Short version: Modifry DCI is worth it as the (marginally) cheaper alternative, made by PAC products, has fewer functions and there is noticeable lag when you press a button.

Cheaper alternatives are the PAC unit or the Axxess ASWC. I have the Axxess ASWC,$42 on amazon, in my car and there isn't any lag but the mute button doesn't work.

There's certainly cheaper. As stated above, this is a well-beaten dead horse (refer to the countless prior DCI threads) and there's good reason why Modifry is always so highly recommended (not just for the DCI itself but for Bob's support). IMO the Modifry PnP harness for Alpine is worth it along with the wired DCI. YMMV as with any subjective matter.

I have the full function Modifry DCI PnP for Alpine and I have ZERO complaints, it works as thought it was meant to be OEM. Worth the extra cost, IMO.

I just used the Autoleads adapter to install my headunit.

It's about $40 and takes about a week to come in from the UK.
