CDs sticking in stock CD player
We have a 2005 car with the standard CD player head unit. Recently, CDs have started jamming/sticking in the player.
Symptoms are usually brought on my pressing the eject button - the light will blink like it's trying to eject the disc, but it won't come out, and after a while the light just goes off. After that, the unit behaves as if the CD player just doesn't exist - i.e. any button related the CD player does absolutely nothing, until the ignition is turned off and then on again (turning the radio off and on doesn't do it). It won't even play the CD any more. Then, come back the next day, and the disc will pop out first time you hit eject.
A couple of times it's happened whilst playing - all of a sudden it'll stop, and display a CD error message (sorry, can't remember exact text, let me know if it would help.)
Any thoughts/ideas/experience of the same problem? I'm wondering if it may have something to do with dampness on the mechanism? Maybe it's time to simply get a new head unit, but I was just wondering if perhaps the rollers just needed a clean or something?
Thanks...

I am guessing that the unit is getting hot. Maybe it's too hot to operate properly.
P.S. There is a forum for this type of question:

Sounds like the perfect excuse to get a new head unit. Of course, S2000 owners already have the excuse "my stock head unit is a piece of $*#^&, I think I'll get a new one" lol.

Warranty! Several years ago I went through two Boze units in my Miata before I got one that worked. All were covered under the warranty. I'll never own anythng Boze.
I'm guessing the dealer will swap it out and not try to fix anything. Warranty!
