Cassette player adapter for S2K
I have a collection of audio books on cassette that I'd like to be able to play through the car's existing AM/FM/CD system. Would appreciate any advice on which adapter(s) might be best. Thanks for any help.

This topic is better suited for the Electronics forum.
Anyway, althought CD to tape adaptors are quite common, I don't think you'll find anything that will go the other direction. Any way you look at it, it might be a lot of work and/or expense. The OEM head unit does have an input for the factory CD changer signal. I suppose you could find the input wires and play a tape machine's signal through that. Don't know how successful that would be.
My wife had the same issue with her car. She wanted to play "book tapes" when she was on the road, but most modern day car audio options are limited to CD players. We were lucky in that we could get a CD/cassette tape combo for her car.
In this case, if it were me, I'd try to buy an OEM S2000 cassette deck from a UK member who has upgraded their system. Then I'd put in a CD changer in the trunk for all your CDs.
This may not apply to you, but I had lots of cassette tapes from years ago that I wanted to take on the road. I duplicated them onto CD with a home CD recorder component that was part of my stereo system.

You could also get a P.I.E. / Blitzsafe AUX Adapter or other brand adapter that uses the 6CD Changer plug on the back of your head unit and then use the input to hook up a portable cassette player ...
www.logjamelectronics.com has a nice selection...
You could even get one for a little more that adds the ability to hook up another brand CD changer like Alpine or Sony, or one that gives you a connection to XM as well.
Here's one that says its compatible with the 2005 S2000, and it gives you an Aux input and a connection to a Sony CD changer: http://www.logjamelectronics.com/sounsnhond3.html

You can use a cassette walkman and send the signal via FM using something along these lines:
http://www.arkon.com/fmtransmitter.html
Some of these adapters can also provide power to the walkman.
The sound quality is perfectly fine for audio books and no installation is required.

You could just play them into your computer and convert them to MP3 and burn them onto a CD. Plus you could most likely burn like 10 tapes onto tone CD
Not sure if the 2005 OEM deck is MP3 capable - but you could still burn them as redbook audio (normal CD's) using NERO and play them in the CD player.

Many thanks for all your responses and advice. For now anyway, I'll pursue the alternative suggested by mas. Sounds adequate for my needs, and fits my level of techncal expertise...
