can't get alphasonik system to work
so i buy a amp kit from best buy which was a 4g. it came with the necessary items to install 2 amps. ran the wire through the car and got the amp/capacitor/deck powered. only thing we couldn't get to power is the sub. also when i installed the 2nd amp, i couldn't get that to power up when using the remote wire from the working amp to test out the 2nd amp.
i am using the alphasonik group buy sub system n' amp. (will get model number of amp that's working in a little)
i bought the sub system from a member on here and listened to it before we took it out. i'm using the alpine cda 9884. would i have to turn on any features on the deck? thanks guys, i'm new to this

Make sure you are getting 12v on the turn on line at the amp first.
then, use a voltage tester at the amp and make sure you are really getting 12v there.
Then check your ground is REALLY good. It needs to be grounded to bare metal. The big bolt on the rear sway bar is good, just scrape some of the paint off and use a ring terminal on it.
Bass will remember this :
I had an issue once where the turn on was enough to illuminate the "on" light of my Alpha amp. So, I figured the amp had power, right? nope!
First, the fuse was still out of the power wire at the battery. Pluged that in, still nothing. Checked 12v on the line at the amp and had it, so we were puzzled.
Turns out, the ground was not good enough, once we fixed it, everythign was good.
Once you determine all your power is good, the next thing will be that the wires to the sub are hooked up right. Make sure if you are bridging that you have the + and - on the right two chanels of the amp for bridging and that the wire is securely fastend at the amp, speaker box and even inside the box if you get that far. The wires at the sub have fallen off before, it won't be the first time.
Finally, if all else is fine, consider the source. Are the RCA's plugged in correctly? Does your head unit have a setting to disable the amp or is the fader set to some how eliminate the chanel you have your sub plugged into? I know my Alpine has a setting to turn the sub channel all the way off if I want to. Check for something similar.
Let us know how you do. good luck.

i believe the rca's are installed right. they plug into the line out on the amp right?

Well, if that ground doesnt work out, really check that the RCA's are sending a signal and that the gain is properly set on the amp.
Even without scraping the paint on that bolt it should have enough contact from the bolt threads to work. I am very interested to see what ths turns out to be. Also, check the fuses IN the amp. There should be one that can plug into the side.
Is the power like showing up on the amp?
