Blown acc fuse kills the radio?
My air compressor turned out to be too powerful for the accessory socket and the fuse blew. And then my radio stopped working The radio fuse is ok, the radio has power: it ejects CDs, the buttons light up when the lights are on and the little Anti-Theft light is blinking. The radio does not display 'SAFE' or 'CODE'. I tried entering the code just in case, nada. Looks ok, but the power switch no longer turns on the radio...
So I replace the acc fuse and the radio comes back to life. Am I missing something? Are the two dependant somehow? Just curious in case I happen to blow something else and half the car dies.
The car is completly stock btw, no changes additions or mods.

Aparently they are related, since replacing the acc fuse fixed it. There are two power sources to the radio, one constant on and one on with ignition. It was probably the one on with ignition that was blown. So the clock, eject, and security light would still work, but it wouldn't play.
I didn't know they were on the same circuit, but it doesn't suprise me in any way.

The radio fuse is for the constant power for the cd player (also known as memory wire)
The Acc fuse is for anything that is hooked up to the Keyside of the barrel, your stereo is turned on by this.. the 'trigger' wire from your unit is switched on when you turn the key, this is why you could edject cds but not turn on your unit..
