audiobahn speaker review; amp and sub question
#1
Last week I upgraded the speakers with Audiobahn 600x series components. The sound quality is much better, bass is not sacrificed, and volume doesn't change when my leg moves. Incidently, the tweeters are surface mounted on the dash, at the base of the windsheild. The speakers were $150, and installation was $80 from a professional car audio shop. For those interested, the Audiobahn speakers are rated at 140W RMS. (!) Audiobahn receives mixed reviews from the internet community, but the shop recommened them, so I decided to give them a try. So far, I'm happy.
However, I still would like more volume. The shop says to go with a Coustic amp, 75Wx4, so if needed, two channels can be bridged to power a sub. What do you think of Coustic? I can't seem to find much information on them, besides their website.
Also, the shop says to go with a 12" sub mounted in the tool area. Would this be sufficient and lend itself to a wide range of music? I don't listen to rap, but I do listen to music that includes techno/dance/jazz. I also don't want my car to sound like it's going to rattle apart.
Thanks,
Tom
