Default Audio: What else do I need?

Pioneer DEH-XB6500BT headunit

Pioneer TS-A1605C 6-1/2 2 way speakers

Infinity Basslink

Should I get an amp for my speakers? or not? if so, which one?

Those speakers are moderately efficient, but in noisy car like the s2000 I think you'll be
happier with an external amp. There are an endless number of good choices - a popular
one is the Alpine KTP-445U as its small size gives you many installation options.
You may also be interested in a Modifry DCI to retain the dash controls.

Like oth said, the Alpine KTP-445U is a popular amp. It can go virtually anywhere, I'm debating between that and a larger/better amp myself as I will probably mount mine where the spare tire is. Putting it out of sight and saving me space. I just don't know how strong of amp I should get.

I would get a 4 channel amp and run 2 channels to the speakers and bridge 2 channels for the sub.

I second the 445u recommendation. It's a great little amp, especially bridged to 90Wx2 channels. With the powered sub, that should be all you need in the way of power. You'll want better speakers almost right away, but if you're on a budget right now, the Pio speakers will sound better than stock, and they're cheap enough that you won't feel bad replacing them in a year with nicer speakers. It's not really possible to spend too much on speakers, so it's probably best to get a good foundation for your system in place and spend your entire upgrade budget on speakers down the road.

I just bought the Pioneers also, did you get them to fit? I can't figure out how to get them to fit because even if I cut out the stock basket the screw holes don't line up. I'm not sure if aftermarket brackets are going to fit either. I'd love to know what you ended up doing!
