Default Anyone bought a ~$200-250 head unit recently?

Based on what head units are currently available now in 2013, I'm looking for a $200-$250 head unit for an '07 S2000, completely stock.

That budget is just for the head unit. I'm going to do the Modifry DCI etc in addition to the purchase of the head unit, and install it myself.

I like Alpine, Kenwood, Pioneer, and Sony. Definitely want some iPOD control. Don't need Bluetooth or satellite radio etc. HD radio would be nice.

Any suggestions would be great.

I bought the Pioneer BH http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...rs/DEH-X8500BH
I got it from amazon for like 160$ or something then bought the DCI also. I absolutely love it and it looks perfect in the S. highly recommend.

I just bought my first Pioneer head unit. I'm using it with a wired Modifry DCI with SCV enabled in my AP1. No complaints other than the fact that I am unable to turn off the "beeps". I have always purchased Alpine or Kenwood headunits in the past, but I went with Pioneer due to it being one of few head units to support the iPhone5.

Check out the new Alpine 147/148/149 models. They retail from $200-300, rear usb, selectable illumination including amber to match the S, HD radio on the 148/149. They're supposed to ship any day now.

DEH-80PRS is a great deck. I'm hoping to install mine next week (weather permitting).

I have a USB extension running out the back of the dash and downlow. It goes into the passenger side umbrella cargo net (attached right on the side of the tranny tunnel)
keep that in mind. it's how i charge my apple products.

If you have the USB upfront it will hit the radio door and may get in the way of shifting... I always prefer USB extensions out from the back
