Ya I'm in the same boat. Seems like so many of them want to rip me off. Plus I don't want someone messing up my car

I had my audio gears installed in Westminster, about the conner of Magnolia and Bolsa.I will get the address of the place tonight.
You should buy all your audio gears online to save money, the shop will charge labor only, about $200 to $250 for HU + Door Speakers + Sub + Amps + wirings and cable

The shop name is USA Window Tinting, address: 15191 Moran St Westminster CA 92683 (714) 898-4030.
The shop started out as window tinting, then they added car audio about 10 years ago, the installer is very knowledgable about car audio and did a very good job on my S2000.

Hey TR, thanks for the scoop I will check them out. Do you have a contact person there? And I notice you have a MY04 as well. What kind of audio system do you have in yours and are you happy with it? Cheers

FYI-

I also have an '04 and elected to keep the stock HU for now.

I've got:

Kenwood eXcelon KFC-Xr61P 6.5" components
Kicker KX550.3 three channel amp (has high-level inputs--no LOC necessary)
4 Ga. wiring kit
Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1 DVC sub in custom fiberglass enclosure (made it myself)

I am also really happy with my system and got off pretty cheap: less than $500 for parts and sub material. Did install myself: FREE!

Thanks for the inputs guys. I'm also keen on keeping stock HU on my 04 (for now), I'd like to retain functionality and the stock look. And I hear the HU is better than previous years (tho I cant find specs - does anyone know where I can find the specs?)

Jocko you didnt think of going with rears at all - SPods or rear panels? Are you happy with your setup? Where did you buy your gear?

TR,

Whats your opinion on the rear panel speakers, do they help much? People have been touting the s-pods a lot, which I'm sure provide better sound and look pretty good too. Did you consider s-pods at all?

Did you go with the Liquid panels or did your installer do the cutting for you? Is coaxial the way to go if you use rear panels - would components be a waste or just dont fit? I also noticed you are not amp'ing your rears, right?

I guess I will have to lissten to a few others stereo setup to get a view on whether I need rear panels, s-pods,,,,, or maybe nothing in the rears.
