any Alarm suggestions?

^Unless you leave the car unlocked/top down/window open and somebody moves the shift lever. Plus it will start if the e-brake is up one notch which isn't enough to keep the car from moving.
I guess I'm paranoid, I have a neutral switch, but only used one magnet/reed to enable remote start rather than multiple magnets to disable remote start. Also have separate e-brake "on full" switch and brake/clutch/hood shut-off and motion shut-off. Now you see where "paranoid" fits in.

you're paranoia makes sense though. you think like i do. without actually having a "kill-switch" that knows when the shifter is in gear there is no way to be 100% safe. using one vs. multiple reed switches is an interesting thought. let me ponder on that one. the motion sensor tho seems like an after-the-fact occurance?

The motion sensor is tied to the remote start "brake input", so it shuts down as if someone touched the brakes (almost immediate). And since it's sensing the speed signal it will activate with only 1/2" of wheel movement. I tested it by bypassing the neutral and e-brake sensors with the car jacked up - it shut down within 1/10 of a wheel rotation.
If I have time tomorrow I'll try to put up the photos/movies.

1/2 to 1/10th wheel rotation is excellent! wow... impressive. i was concerned about when the car is parked and it's cranked while in gear it will tend to lunge forward (assuming it's in a forward gear) and i was afraid momentum is already built up and it'll hit the car in front even with say, 6" in distance. 1/10th if a wheel rotation is roughly 11" tho so i'm still concerned. In any case, it's still the best idea i've heard of yet tho. would love to see that video.
i might come up with a switching grid that works similar to how the reverse switch works. hopefully it won't interfere with normal shifting.
