I'm running an Alpine ida-x305 with alpine type R coaxial speakers linked here:

It seems that i'm not getting enough power to the speakers to use them properly. I'd like an affordable best bang for the buck amplifier. I'm not looking for great stuff, just a good affordable amp.

I have one pushing 50-75 watts RMS to each of my Kappa coaxials and have the 2 remaining channels bridged for 150watts RMS when I add a sub later.

do you plan to add a sub in the future? if so, as suggested above, consider a 4-channel amp now where the rear channels can be bridged. if not, just get a 2-channel.

the Robert Zeff design based amp line from Clarion get high praise over on the diy mobile audio forum. here's the 2-channel:

the 4-channel is APX4361, which might be more difficult to locate.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll definitely go with a 4 channel one in case I get a sub in the future.

And what do they mean by:

# RMS Power Per Channel Into 4 Ohms: 50W X 4 (1% THD)
# RMS Power Per Channel Into 2 Ohms: 75W X 4
# Brigded 4 Ohms: 150W X 2

It has 4 channels rated at 50w rms each, I get that. But I dont' get the ohms business.

ohms is the unit measure of impedance. Your speakers are 4ohm based on these specs:

so you'll use 2 of the channels, at 4ohm, and get 50watts to each speaker. then if you add a sub later, you bridge the rear two channels to get a 150w single 4ohm channel.
