How could the ground make the whole system not work?

most amps will go into protect mode if they aren't getting a good ground, if the amp isn't working, then the sub won't work.

are only the sub and amp not working? or are your speakers not working either? is your amp only going to your sub?

amp is only going to the sub, other speakers are working

ok, then since that amp is in protect mode, it wouldn't be sending a signal to the sub, which is why those 2 things (amp and sub) wouldn't appear to be working.

so, check your ground.

Ok new problem. I tried to reconnect my Hu with the same exact harness yesterday. No sound from ther speakers, put the stock hu back in works with no problem. What gives?

were the harnesses fully clipped together ?

To my knowledge it was the stereo got power and played a cd but i got no sound

did you get one of those plug and play harnesses or did you hack up the honda harness?
