Amp to push...Infinity Kappa Components
Edited this post a little.
Ok, I'm going with the Alpine 9852 head unit and Infinity Kappa components.
I'm going to see how this sounds and later decide if I want a sub.
What brand of amps should I be looking at?

Is it better to have a high output HU/no amp or lower output HU and an amp?
I'm looking at an Alpine 9852/amp/Infinity Kappa components and possibly amp/10" sub.
Will there be a noticeable difference with the Alpine player (16 wrms x 4) and amp?

I used to think that also, But I just took the amp out of my Integra, and have a older(like 6 yrs old, 45x4) pioneer cd player pushing a set of infinity kappa 6.1 component set and it actually sounds the same as it did amped. I had a rockford fosgate 400s amp(the older better style amp).
But if you are wanting to add a sub, might as well get a 4 channel amp, bridge two channels for the sub and amp the speakers. Its all in what you want, but I would definitely get the DCI. I wouldn't know what to do without my side controls

Then something went VERY wrong. The Perfects almost done move with headunit power. They need a MINIMUM of 50wrms. Headunit power will make them sound like the music is 3 walls away.
I'm sure amped they reached a higher volume and were clearer, but at the volume I listened to them at, I dont remember it making a huge difference.
