Alpine to iPod connection
I recently installed a CD-9XXX Alpine headunit in my S2000. It purchased the iPod cable and it's currently sitting there not being used because my 4th generation iPod is a bit too old to interface.
I do not want to spend the money on a new iTouch or equivalent iPod piece because it's something that's just going to sit in the car (through some pretty drastic temp changes over time). I went to Best Buy recently and saw that even the 2GB unit was $175+. I could have sworn they had 2-4GB units for less than $100, but I guess I was wrong.
That being said, I noticed many other mp3 players with connections similar to that of the iPod. I did not look at thenm closely, but would any of them work with the Alpine headunit iPod cable? Hoping to spend less than $100 for 3-4GB.
Thanks!

If your headunit has a usb connection use that instead so much easier and better then Ipod + usb's are cheap and you can always steal music from friends computers whereas Ipod needs special treatment.

I was able to get 8GB Ipod Nano for $180 at local Best Buy through online pick-up.
Also, check out the refurbished section on Apple website. I saw a $79 previous gen 2GB Ipod-Nano there a while ago.
