ok Ill snap some photos tomorrow
note I also purchased the head unit off ebay, so I could have gotten a refurbished one? He stated it was new but not so sure. Ill take photos of it tomorrow and try to post it before work. I have a strong feeling its the head unit though.

Quick question for you people using your iphone with this setup...

Can you play other audio (not ipod) over the USB ipod connection such as Pandora, Last.FM, etc?

Also, is the iDA-X305 different than the X305?

got it to work akuma thanks for helping, turned out to be a faulty head unit. Went ahead and purchased a new one and it works, guess I have to be more careful purchasing on ebay. Don't buy from stoneless_elk on ebay just a warning. I'm getting my refund.

^ Yes you can.

When the deck is on either iPod mode or Pandora mode, on your actual iPhone, open the application of your choice (WunderRadio, LastFM, IHeartRadio, etc.) and it will override whatever is playing... To go back to playing your iPod on your iPhone you'll need to disconnect and reconnect the USB.

This deck is also NAVIGON friendly.

hey SD ray, so it will charge the phone and you can also skip the next track using the headunit if i am playing pandora? also, are we talking about the 305 or 305s?

Is this true of any USB iPod connection? Do you still have to unplug/reconnect it even if you put it into device control mode (as opposed to head-unit control)? (I'm assuming there is a way to do that with this deck?)

I was in best buy yesterday and testing out stereos with my iphone was abysmal. None of them were hooked up to speakers and the sales people knew almost nothing about them or how to set them up.

Hey, no worries. I am sorry to hear about the dodgy headunit. As long as you get your money back through eBay or Paypal, I guess the only thing wasted is a few hours and some stress. I am glad you got it working in the end though, enjoy!

So you're using the modifry harness with the ktp445? Bob at modifry was saying it wouldn't work, good to know it does ..

I did with no issues whatsoever... what was his reasoning as to why it wouldn't? Sounds like he isn't aware of what the KTP445 is and/or does.
