I am going to get the HU mentioned, but where do you see that it is capable of connecting directly to the honda factory dash controls? if so where do i buy them?
BTW Alpine 2004+ European models do work in North America. You have to change a setting and voila.

In the past, the only Alpine HU that worked with S2000 dash controls was the European HU, which will work in the US as long as you don't intend to listen to the radio (different frequencies). And that explains why you don't hear anybody going that route.
Hopefully the new adapter will have decent functionality and not be overpriced.

The European Alpine units do receive FM radio fine in the US. The AM is a little screwy but I get the only AM station I want. I have a 7893R. I've had it for years.

This is good news. When the 2005 Alpine HU comes available and if it is compatible with the S dash controls, I will certainly purchase one. Thanks for the info!

but... that's only a guess
and
you know, modifry's dci works great.
It actually adjusts the volume to your speed, which is a suprisingly nifty trick. There's really no reason to wait for the new HUs if all you are concerned about is maintaining the dash contols.
