There's also the "integrated into the headunit screen" option like the Alpine 333

I have this done, (although not for nav, but just for tv purposes.......)

It can be done, quite easily actually......

Here are some pics....

The albums are acting up again, so just click twice on the little box thingy, and youll see the pics.

I just ordered the JVC kd-avx1. It is a 1 DIN w/ a DVD and a 3" monitor. I will let everyone know what it is like when i get it all hooked up.

I have seen the Eclipse double DIN units custom fitted into where our decks are now and all you loose is your 2 vents there. This is another option to cutting the dash.

Do you have a picture of that?? because I can't see how you could get a CD into the slot if you bring the deck all the way out... not to mention you'll need to move the airbag control box to cut it all apart to actually fit a double din HU in that slot. Its a very tight fit back there...

I like the way that cable rest and wedge between the mount and the dashboard. It is not flapping around and making any noises.

Overall it is almost as good as the dash mount nav screen.

Since it can turn left and right a little and it is closer to the driver's sightline, IMHO, it is better than the in dash setup.

If the passenger wants to play with it, she can turn the screen towards her. Pretty convenient if you ask me.

btw, with that setup, can you play music while watching a movie?? i'm assuming no because you need a disc for the music and one for the dvd, how about an ipod hardwired?? will you then be able to?
