Default alpine component speakers....

has anyone installed the alpine component speaker in their car? type s, r, or x? did it require any modifications to get it to fit? i have a cda-9855 and need the speakers to be upgraded cause it sounds like the stock speakers are gonna pop. and if i add these speakers, should i mount them with an amp?

They are not the same dimensions, neither fit to my knowledge using a modified stock bucket, but could fit with some custom work, not sure.

I have Alpine Type-X in my car for now. I've had them for a few years now and they sound great.

I have them front (SPX-177a) and the rears (SPX-137a). The fronts fit right in, you only need to trim the stock speaker basket a little... no big deal. The rear's are a different story altogether. I custom fit those in.

yes they should fit fine. i had the type-x (spx-177r) and the only thing i did was trim the backside of the stock bracket.
