Not yet, I haven't justified the cost yet. The radio is around the same distance from my right hand to the controls from my left hand.. Haha. I didn't splice into oem harness and if I do ever sell my car, the stock headinit would be going back in.

I will say if you're looking for lows, a subwoofer is MUST. (This will be my next purchase in the future). With the top down at 70mph I can have the volume up around 19-21 and the music is very crisp with no distortion. (I'm no audio geek, but to me it sounds great) (I DO NOT HAVE AN EXTERNAL AMPLIFIER, FYI) All in all I would HIGHLY recommend this setup for anyone looking for an entry level upgrade to their OEM System.

I didn't splice into oem harness. PC Richard had a harness that plugged into the oem harness. I just had to solder the alpine and PC Richard harness together. Plus it was only $10

1. how much extra time + money is it to add the thing that lets you use the dash controls (left hand mute/channel/vol/source)?
2. would your setup be even better-sounding if you added an amp?
3. with your current setup, what do you need to do to add a subwoofer? i think the darkside v1 seems best for my needs.

1. I believe it's about $90 to allow your dash audio controls to work.
2. The amp would provide more power, which would allow you to get the speakers louder without distortion. This setup though gets plenty loud for me without any distortion (to my untrained ears). I can cruise with the top down at 70mph with my volume at 20 and it sounds perfect.
3. In order to install a sub all I would need is an amp kit, the subwoofer/enclosure, and an amp.
Feel free to reach out if you have any more questions. There's a lot more knowledgeable people on here for audio questions, but the setup I have sounds great and I couldn't be happier!
