Alpine CDA 9885 w/ ipod link
As title says, I have a fully stock audio system at the moment, except for the Alpine CDA-9885 I just installed last week. This head unit sends a lot cleaner power to the stock speakers, even though i plan to get a nice set of components (db6500) in about a week.
I also got the ipod adapter
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-3A0HUTW5iqJ/c...sp?i=500kce422i
for my 3rd gen ipod.
When I hook it up to the HU, the ipod light comes on on the HU, and my ipod itself will say its charging, but on the HU display, it will only say "searching", and my ipod screen never goes to the alpine logo.
I have already tried restoring my ipod to factory settings, then reinstalling the 2.3 firmware, and resetting my HU.
Any idears?

wonder why it wont work for 3rd gens, thats gotta be a software only issue
