You can run the speakers without the amp, just won't get full potential out of them. They should still sound ok.

I'd leave the head rest speakers wired to the HU, unless they are some higher end aftermarket pieces. The stock ones won't carry much of a load on them, so they should be fine as is.
thanks. so the type r will sound find without an amp until i figure out the wiring.

i have one alpine MRV F340 that i had for years now that is brand new because i never finished my complete alpine system in my accord. only got 4 type r speakers installed and that was it

So ill be using a MRV F340
just ordered
Alpine iDA X305
Alpine SPR-17S
Amp Kit
Speaker Wires
DCI

anything else im missing? also will the amp i have work for my set up?
only need it to power the SPR-17S and keep the HU to power the headrest tweeters.

what gauge speaker wires?
is the DCI with SCV kit worth it?
and $118 to keep remote control.. damn thats expensive

Alot of the folks swear by the DCI (SCV or not). Should be worth it as it lets you keep functionality of the OEM controls.

You should be ok using the same gauge used in the S. If unsure, read the manual for your amp and take the recommendation from there.

Seems like a good setup. Not sure what else you may need, but hopefully one of the electronic junkies can double check for you.

Your speaker size might be too large to fit and so some cutting may be required in multiple places. Also make sure you don't have any issues with the window coming down.

Yes is the answer. Leave the crossover off and just set the gain correctly.
