Default Alpine 9857 with Modifry DCI

So I got my Alpine 9857 with the Modifry DCI and a IPOD (with cable).

Wired everything together - it was all easy - first time I did a HU install but the instructions were simple...

But stuffing the DCI and the harness into the back of that stupid tiny HU space in the dash was the BIGGEST F**kING PAIN IN THE ASS!! ... I finally got it all to fit ... @*%@#$#@

Folks if you are wiring your harness together - PLEASE do rememeber to shorten the length of the damn thingy before crimping / soldering it together - I crimped my harnesses together without shortening the wire lengths and ended up with this monster long harness.... I was too lazy to start all over so spent 1 hour trying to squeeze that f**ker into the space ... PHEW!

I actually pulled the factory harness back out by the gas pedal, Left the Alpine wires long, and connected the two harnesses there, then secured it with a wire tie. This worked out well for me because it leaves acess to the DCI switches which I zip tied to the factory harness.

Also you can usually make a smaller "package" if you solder instead of crimp.

Just a thought.

There's a nice spot for the DCI under the HU... need to remove the little side panel on the center console. I chose the passenger side.
