AEM ems
ok everyone i have run into a problem. I am going to be using the AEM ems because of the extensive amount of modifications i have done to the car.
Basically full built head, and a ERL shortblock ( f22c crank, crower rods, 12.0:1 C/R pistons) This is a all motor car. My problem is that here in nashville we require Obd2 testing. I know with the standalone obd2 wont work. So can i buy the ecu from the 2004 s2k and use it when i go to test the car? Will it at least make the car be able to idle correctly ect ect so i can at least pass obd2 codes and get my tags redone. I have to do something because i cant just turn back. AEM standalone is a must unless there are other means of tuning which i can do but i dont think its a wise move to do anything over than the standalone system. Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated.

If your modifications are so extensive as to require an EMS, I seriously doubt a stock ECU would properly handle the mods. At best the idle would be so rough and out of whack you'd fail the test... at worst you'd blow the block with massive pinging.

Well my thinking is that even tho i have a bunch of parts its still a NA motor that is along the lines of the 2.2L. If i used the 2.2L ecu even tho my compression is higher and more displacment the ecu would still be able to control the car under idle conditions. If the car knocks at idle i could always try and reprogram the stock ecu to pull timing out. Im just trying to figure out to get around registering the car out of county. What other options have people used besides the ems. If i have to ill just have to deal with it but i would like some more input. I know there has to be some other thoughts on this
