4 speakers and a sub...
If I install 4 speakers and and a sub, can I use my exsisting [Kenwood] 4 channel amp? Have you done this?
I know, it would be better to go with a mono for the sub, but I really don't want to get two amps. Or, should I spring for a 5 or 6 channel amp???
Thanks,
-Steve

depends on the wattage man. Ive heard of running 2 speakers and a sub off a 300/2...it just isnt going to be the best quality. You would have to run 2 sets of speakers through 2 channels...might not get a very good result. I hope someone can answer this question better for you than I. But...if its a 4 channel amp, its prob not going to be a whole lot of wattage running to your sub either.
Best thing to do would be get a small amp just for your sub. You can probably find one on ebay for like 50 bucks.

Run your door speakers off the front channels of the amp, run the rear speakers off the headunit itself and run the sub off the rear channels of the amp(switch the rear channel to low pass on the filter settings)

or you can run the drivers side speakers on channel 1 and run the passenger speakers on channel 2 (front channel) then bridge channel 3 and 4 so that your sub will be bridged on channel 3 and 4 (rear channel) thus turning your 4 channel amp into a 3 channel amp, ive been doing this for a long time now, and shit sounds loud and awesome
