How bout you people stop selling JL and making him burn an extra 2 grand.
Again...why would someone spend $900 on speakers for an s2000???
All JL equipment is mediocre and highly overpriced. W7 in particular.
Alpine 9831 - $260
Focal, Infinity, Boston 6.5" $200-350
Soundstream Tarantula 500.4 $500
Eclipse Aluminum or Alphasonik 800, both substantially better than the W7....(Ive owned all three) $240
Total Price, 1200-1500 before cable, wire, and install. This leaves MUCh more money for a nice install, and better quality component.
If you really want to spend 3 grand just to have top top gear, the JL isnt even on that caliber.
Helix, Tru Technologies, etc....
Just my .02,
Also, sorry for offending the JL folks, but truth hurts.

You guys are both wrong, everyone knows that Bose is the best
This is a convertible, and the system NFR suggested is a 1/3 of the cost and will sound BETTER. With JL and their magicalicous power supply limiting, you are forced to run 2 amps. If you can't find the Tarantula, you can get the VGA500.4 for a little over $300 and that should be plenty of power.
I haven't heard a sub with tighter bass then the Eclipse line, I will be trading in my JL for an Eclipse as soon as I blow it (came in the stealthbox I bought used).
As for your pricing based on demand/quality, you are half right. Pricing is always set by demand which in turn is based on marketing, and JL does a great job of it. Just like Bose.
Oh, and I wouldn't drive a Lexus or a Kia, I drive a Honda and I am proud of it!
P.S. JL is quality equipment, it's just there are better options out there if you aren't going for Bling factor.

Would you rather drive a lexus or a kia? Both have pos. and negs, but i think its clear which most would prefer. Products are priced accordingly to demand/quality.
With their 3ohm subs, stable power supply (another word for same power at any ohm), overpriced, GARBAGE service, GARBAGE support, GARBAGE warranty...
I dont know if your car is full of JL stuff, and if it is, Im sorry you got jacked, but there is better equipment than JL for less money.
I guess the Tarantula amp is just a Kia sedona, and the JL 300.2 is the Ferrari of amps.
P.S. Look a few threads down and check out the my sub blew threads...
P.P.S You are half right....products are priced based on demand OR quality. JL has demand because people are clueless and they have great marketing.
