Default 2004 Speaker Rear Speaker Harness

I have a 2004 S2000, and would like to find the rear (headrest) speaker harness that just plugs into the 4 wire harness that is hanging off of the normal harness.

I could go with the Lucid one, but I believe that shares the same wires are the front speakers, and doesn't give you the front/back fader.

I don't want to buy the kit from honda, because the speakers suck, and they won't sell the harness by itself.

Anyone know where to find one?

Thanks!!

The lucid one does allow use of the front back fader as well as the dash controls.

that's good to know, but I'd still rather use the honda one. Anyone have any idea of where to get one?

thanks

I think I'll probably end up splicing into the them. Thought it would be cleaner if I used a harness. Clean is good!

the lucid one is probably the best bet.

while the honda one may look nice and perfect, functionally they are exactly the same. all it does is provide an "extension" to the stock harness while also adding rear wires to use. All model years have rear speaker outputs, but the OEM harness lacks the pins.

I went to a local scrap yard and had them cut the radio plug from a civic, leaving about six inches of wire with the plug. I had to let them take my radio to be sure the plug was the same. Then I removed four wires from the Civic plug and inserted them in the correct location in my plug. Worked great and I just spliced wires to run to the rear of the car. I paid $ 10.00 for the civic plug.

another alternative

No need to take out the HU on the '04. There's a 4-pin connector by the driver's side panel of the stereo that is used for the CD changer. Check this install guide for the location (page 11 step 56).

I just cut off the connector and soldered the wires on for my rears. Here's the wiring colors:

Red/Yellow (Passenger Rear Speaker (+))

Brown/White (Passenger Rear Speaker (-))

Blue/Yellow (Driver Rear Speaker (+))

Gray/Red (Driver Rear Speaker (-))

good advice mwd473 except it's not for the changer it's for the rear speakers and this is only in the >=04s
