I'm new to the forum and just got a new 2002 silver/red S2000.

What I've noticed is when playing a CD the factory stereo sounds pretty darn good and has some decent volume. When I switch to the radio the volume level sounds like it almost gets cut in HALF! This is for all stations.

I've had full custom systems in my other vehicles and know the radio is never as loud as a CD. BUT, the difference is this car is REALLY noticeable and you can't really crank the radio like the CD. If you have the radio volume almost all the way up, and then switch to CD, it super loud on CD.

Are they all like this?

Is it due to the small rubber antenna?

Glad you mention that, because I noticed the same and wasn't sure if it's my imagination or if there's a technical defect. I have no idea what causes this, though.

I have always noticed this. I just installed lucid's rear's and while those greatly improve the overall sound; the level discrepency between radio/cd is even more apparent. I can't turn the volume up past 50% on the cd because I am afraid that I will damage the speakers, but on the radio I am almost always past that level????
