Thumbs up 12VDC Power Outlet Loose!

Well it looks like like the retaining ring on the back side of my 12v outlet in my rear console came loose. I was wandering if anyone else has had this problem and if there were an easy way of taking out the rear console to get to the backside of the outlet without taking out the center console.

Deep down I know there isn't any way to avoid taking the center console out to get to the screws for the rear console but one can hope.

Same thing happened to mine =( I went back to see if they could repair it under warranty and they could...but yes...the entire rear console had to be removed. Which would have drained 6 hours out of my day so I used a tiny bit of silicon RTV to hold it in place. They where nice enough to take care of it when my top was replaced.

Thanks! Sucks to be me I guess... I'll probably take care of it when I finish up my system.

That happened to me and I did not want to take the entire console out to fix it. Masked around the hole and gooped in some JB Weld, pushed it back in the hole, wiped it off - done. Been good for the past 2+ years

you can remove one of the seat panels and reach around that way and do it

but you need small hands :/

i'm 6'1 and definitely don't have small hands, so i just shoved an old rag back there to stop the rattle until i pull everything apart the next few months when I do my stereo
