Default 100 amp fuse blowing after alternator change

So the s2k had been having issues with the battery, wouldn't charge and had to be jumped ever time we drove it. Tested the alternator and it wasn't putting out enough so I swapped it out the other week.

Tried to start the car and nothing... Eventually found the 100amp battery fuse was blown. I assumed that someone had messed it up while trying to start it.

Well got a new fuse today and put it in, nothin happened so checked the battery. Battery was dead so I tried jumping it, blew the fuse immediately and car didn't start....

Any idea what it could be? Could the battery be bad? I looked at the wiring on the back of the alternator which was the only wire that i messed with and it is on fine.

Could the jump starter be the issue? Should I swap out the battery an try again?

Issue is the fuses are special order from honda and cost heaps so I don't want to blow another one....

Look at your fuse box lid and tell me which fuse it is you are blowing. Sounds like you put the jumper wires on backwards and popped the fuse. And honestly, may have killed your battery. You have the right idea so far, however a new alternator will not be able to charge a dead battery. Hope this helps, im a tech so Ill do my best to check back on this thread and lend you a hand.

Any update? My battery died yesterday and my friend who jumpstarted it reversed the cables. 100amp fuse was blown and car wouldn't start. Replaced the fuse and car is still dead. Hoping it's just the battery and it didn't fry anything else..

Yeah the fuse is there to protect the cars electornics in a case like that. Replace the battery and the fuse and all will be good. Check the voltage at the battery posts while running. Should be charging 14-15volts
