Default 1" speaker spacer possible?

I would like to know is 1" speaker spacer possible without hitting the plastic door panel? I have 3/4" right now the speaker basket wont clear metal door panel.

It seems like 1" speaker spacer is a gamble....

from my research you will have to cut the back of the speaker grille.

3/4" is right on the edge of just fitting. also, take into account the speakers' excursion as you don't want it hitting the panel

I ended up able to fit the speakers with 3/4" with minor cutting on the speakers.

I did cut about 5~10mm the speaker grill ridge off the back of the plastic panel, which turned out to be unnecessary.
