S2000 CR Club Racer Edition CR stands for "club racer," conjuring up the good old days when guys drove their sports cars to the track, raced them, and then, if the racing gods were smiling, drove them home again

Well, another down. CR #469

Default Well, another down. CR #469

I pose this question in this forum, because you all own one. Recently, I came across this gem:

http://www.copart.com/c2/homeSearch....SEARCH_RESULTS

while just messing around. Near as I can figure, that's a steal. It's a GPW CR, #469. But, it has been hit in the front. It looks like I'd be into it for a few grand of bodywork, plus me traveling out there. It would also be a salvage title car, which I'm not too fond of. Would this be a good investment, or no?

Honestly it all depends on what someone is willing to pay for a salvage title car after its fixed. Knowing s2000 owners it'll be a tough sale even if fixed right. And because CR model you will ask more and chances are someone will settle for a non cr model clean title over your salvage cr model. I've said this before if your not planning to keep yiur salvage rebuild forever then it will be a bad investment. That said I'm sure you can part out the cr parts after the rebuild and maybe break even becuase rhose parts are sought after. Goodluck

hurm, that thing said repair costs 16k. I thought about buying a salvaged NSX and throw money to fix it up, but I decided at the end of the day, it wasn't really worth the time and hassle. Figured I'd just save up a little more and get one that's in good condition and working out of the lot.

I think if you have to ask, you probably shouldn't expect to end up making any money on it. The last couple "I tried to flip a salvage S2000" threads that I saw did not end well, both guys really underestimated how much it would cost to restore the car for resale.

Good luck if you decide to give it a shot though, I love GPW

I will tell you right now to bring your pocket book, I know of 3 guys who are bidding on that car. Last one which was berlina with way worse damage went for over 13k+ fees. you would be into this gpw 18k or more by the time it's fixed. Im willing to bet it goes 14-15k.

You should ask the guy in cali who is trying to sell his salvage berlina cr with 50k miles how it's going. He dropped the price 4k already and he still has it.

I never touch salvages. More so with an S2K. Just not worth it.

HECK NO! Only way a salvage title S2000 is worth buying is if your doing a track only build and don't care about ever trying to sell it.

The damage is always worse than it looks. And a salvage s2k will never be a good investment.
