If you read the rules it is geared towards people dropping weight and getting really silly: must have the same amount of pistons as OEM calipers or more, must bolt into OEM location, rotor must not be smaller then OEM. I was really hesitant on buying the kit until I did more research and found out it was a go for it.

Those are some really good shots Tyler! I love what you have done with the car so far. Can't wait to hit the track with you some day.

You can't decrease the rotor size for STR. They're more worried about people trying to save weight through the brakes than trying to get some sort of advantage in braking. In a class that limits you to a 255 street tire on the front, there's not much to gain with a increased brake torque, the tire will always be the limiting factor. That being said I have an STR-legal BBK on my car because it sees track time as well.

Do you go into every thread posting incorrect information, or what?

The StopTech kit is LEGAL for STR and all classes above that. In order to be legal, the rotor must be larger/thicker than OEM, and the caliper must contain the same number, or more pistons. Dust shields can be modified to accommodate the brake kit, so no problems there.

The rule book is available at wwww.scca.com/solo

Edit: Didn't you also post in another thread that there is no reason for a BBK in these cars? Which is also way, way wrong. I'll show you pictures of brand new rotors that cracked under the heat and stress.

I dont know who sh*t in your cereal, but thanks for the help. It was made clear to me in the other thread that it was legal so thank you. And in the other thread I also said that I was biased to autocross so thats why IMHO we didnt need such big brakes. So relax please.

**EDIT**

also the rule about regarding thickness.

https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/102...e-rear-rotors/

https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/925...eplace-rotors/

Those STR 2 piece rotors are thinner than OEM no?

I checked the STR FAQ a handful of times and I guess i just missed the post on the legality of such.

Information on BBK for STR is very scarce here and some information might be outdated from my sources.

https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/787...ve-priorities/

Well since I am no longer in STR anyways and just co drive once in a while in STR this shouldnt matter much to me. So back to the content.
