S2000 CR Club Racer Edition CR stands for "club racer," conjuring up the good old days when guys drove their sports cars to the track, raced them, and then, if the racing gods were smiling, drove them home again

Default need help to restore #151

Hello everybody, I recently bought 08 ABP with 120K miles. I'm new to s2k and learning as I go. I'm finding that some parts are not CR. The muffler is regular s2k and the tool set is not CR also. Anybody has stock radio, muffler, tolls? Good news is that the car has all vin# and good compression. Thank you Jerry

You sure about the muffler? (Just curious.) These are all one piece from the catalytic converter to the tips and all the mufflers look kinda alike.

CR doesn't have this loop.

Thanks, I knew the insides were different but thought they all looked alike outside -- guess not.

Someone went to a lot of trouble to remove/replace the exhaust. Only reason -- other than severe damage -- I can think of was fitting an aftermarket exhaust and then "restoring" to original without any OEM CR exhausts available.

^Yeah Honda never admitted it but contemporary back-to-back testing showed the CR exhaust was good for 2-3 hp. (Plus a few pounds lighter I'd assume.)

Wheels and lugs appear to be correct, but looks like the black emblems were removed - that's easy enough to replace.

I know of at least 4 earlier owners of this car. Given the mileage and the somewhat curious deletions, might want to check that the shocks and springs are correct, and that the CR-specific rear frame stiffener and steering rack stiffener are still in place.

When I get a new muffler I'll post the weight difference. Unfortunately is discontinued so the hunt is on.
Got new emblems, the rear stiffener is aftermarket but still can be ordered new. The front stiffener is there and some aftermarket added.

Suspension ready to go. I didn't even check those on the car. Anything else I should check?

I plan on swapping my CR shocks from my 06 LBP to my CR, and taking the current CR shocks off the CR. I will likely be selling them, so if you want to message me I can give you first crack at them. My CR has 35k miles, so the shocks are excellent, but not as pretty as the CR shocks on the LBP I have. The car you bought looks great for 120k miles!

Thanks for the offer, I would get them if I didn't have a new set ready to install. I was impressed how clean the car was for the mileage especially the interior. Only dash has bubbles. Also compression is good.
