Both Copart and Iaa are the two main outlets for insurance companies to auction off their salvaged cars. You can trust them, they sell thousands of cars everyday throughout their lots across the US. I've been buying from them for over 5 years now and not one complaint so far. You just have to understand that you're buying a car on as-is basis, that's all.

As for the price, all the CR's I've seen in the recent years have sold in the 5 digits. This particular CR should sell for $12-14k.

wow that is really high. 7-8k "might" be worth it, but 5 digits, yea, no thanks.

Low mileage base models with acceptable damage can be had for $5k-8k but CR's are selling for premium and they have plenty of extra's that are worth top $$ should the buyer decide to partout the car, such as hardtop, seats, tonneau cover.

Those seats are going to be rough, sitting outside exposed the weather for a month or more...

I am thinking about bidding on it myself and shipping it to San diego. It is surely beyond the point of repairing especially since its a CR but its a good part out car

Besides the front facia, what are you seeing that would make repairing this any different than a AP2? The only thing that would concern me is the front end looks shifted, otherwise I think the repair would be pretty straight forward.

Wow, between the seats, hard top, tail lights, trunk / wing, wheels and engine, you could probably make back the price paid for that salvaged CR

Unfortunately that car will probably bring around 10k or more. As the value of "driveable" CR's has increased, so has the value of salvage one's. I've been fortunate to accumulate a few extra parts over the years just in case, and no none are for sale.

FYI, this is the actual auction on co-part. As you can see the bidding is already up to $8k.
