Default Fix black portion of lip

Anyone ever fix any scrapes on the bare plastic portion of the CR lip? Misjudged the entrance to a parking garage and scraped the side of mine. It has some scrape marks into the plastic and I'm wondering what I could do to fix it since it isn't painted.

Thanks,

Just a suggestion: A friend of mine suggested this method as he's repaired ABS motorcycle fairings.

A soldering iron with a medium tip.
Consider this tip useless for electronics work afterwards. The tip will be contaminated with plastic.

ABS Cement (black in color)
Use ABS plumbing cement with low VOCs (volatile organic compounds) . This is used as a sort of "bondo" to fill in cracks and deformations in the bodywork. Unlike bondo, the ABS cement will melt and fuse with the ABS bodywork, making a uniform repair material. Home Depot or anywhere that sells plumbing supplies usually carries something like Oatey Low VOC ABS Cement.

Sandpaper and a sanding block
200, 400, 600 grit, and then 1100 grit wet/dry sandpaper.

You may have to repaint the entire lip with black plastic paint to have a decent color match. Depending on the damage, all that may be needed is the soldering iron to smooth the rough area. Good luck.

I've used mothers back to black in the past and was very happy with the results on that portion of the lip.

I've used black plastidip, a lot easier as touch up.

The duplicolor black bumper paint is nice too. Maybe a tad darker than the OEM finish but it's incredibly easy to apply and comes out really even without having to try.

Can we just sand the area multiple times??
Edit: decided to try, had some sharp scratches(no pics but I got too close to a curb years ago) I used 60 grit and shaved it down to my surprise, then only had 400 grit, but for a quick "try" it seems to work, it's dull but the scars are gone, I think some good trim restore will make it good as new.

Thanks for the advice here, I need to do this as I gashed mine towing my car from Buttonwillow. Damn U-Haul tow trailers weren't long enough, lol.

Figured I'd post some pics of my "fix", wanted to see how it looked before I decided on a new bumper or trying to source a new Cr lip. Took the clear bra off too that's been on for 12 years. After some issues of going too aggressive with the sand paper, and then trying the Dremel with sanding attachment I about tossed this on to facebook groups I was so ticked off. Composed myself and went to town with a sanding block and 280 grit and 330 I think and then 800. Combo of wet sanding and dry. Doing it dry you could actually see some plastic coming off, wet I'm not sure it did anything. Bought some Cerakote trim restore and this is what I'm left with.
