The FD2 Civic Type R knob has an extra lip: https://www.tegiwaimports.com/genuin...ype-r-fd2.html
and will not sit flush with the nut: https://www.8thcivic.com/attachments...ide-jpg.10960/

You can modify the FDR Nut itself to sit more flush with the FDR knob
Factory knob + nut is about 249 grams
FDR Knob + Collar is 180 grams
Collar part number: 54103 - SNW - J00
Still fits a 13mm wrench or adjustable around it
At 4:00 you see how it sits un-modified
At 5:22 you basically dremel, file, and sand the lower portion to be shorter so it will sit deeper on the shifter
At 6:00 he starts sanding
At 6:50 here's the modified portion fitment.
