Default CR OEM wing

I recently sold my 06 GPW so I can get into a CR. I just love the way it looks. Anyway, I show my wife a few pics of potential CR I would love to own. She said that wing is so big and ugly. I explained to her it is all in the areodynamic. She said she won't sit in it. Too bad for her. I am just wondering if it is possible for me to remove the wing sometime so she can ride with me. If so what do I do with the holes? Are there plugs I can buy to fill it then take it out to put the wing back on for later. I would love to have the love of my life sitting beside me when I drive the car of my dream.

Frankly the car was designed to function with it's aerodynamic devices in place, the wing being one of them. The car, and the wing, look much better in person than in a picture and I'm sure your wife would get used to the appearance over time. To minimize the wing you might consider a BB CR, being all one color helps disguise the wing/spoiler to where they blend in more. Worst case scenario, you buy another trunk lid off an Ap2, paint it to match and change out the trunk lid as needed. A PITA for sure, but if it makes the wifey happy.......

I would like to stay with GPW (if I can find one in my price range) or APB. Unless I can steal in in BB

This... would your wife REALLY expect you to swap trunks everytime just for her to go for a ride in it? Hell, at that point my wife would just never go for a ride in it!

Removing the trunk will affect the rebound of your trunk because I assume the springs are taking into account the added weight of the springs.

What the previous post mentioned. Get an AP2 trunk matching the color you want (or have it color matched). Store the CR trunk. Or trade + cash on their side. Not worth destroying the trunk, you can make way more money selling your CR trunk.
