Collector license plates
There was a discussion on this in the Ohio forum (https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/686...lector-plates/) but I was wondering if anyone else in the country has collector tags on their CR? Given that only 699 were ever produced, I would think that our cars would qualify as a collector vehicle... although I'm sure the rules vary from state to state. Just curious if anyone has them.

If those are collector plates, how difficult was it for you to obtain those? Did you have to get any documentation from Honda stating that it was a limited production run?

I know that "Collector" status plates were denied for the CR in the state of OR, so I haven't even bothered in WA lol
I think we're just gonna have wait till 2038(30 yrs in WA state)

Special Interest Vehicle
General Information: This plate is issued to a vehicle that is maintained as a collector's item and is at least 25 years old at the time of application, a vehicle sanctioned as a vehicle of special interest by an established organization that provides for recognition, or is a street rod as defined by ORS 801.513. This plate is also issued to a vehicle that is a racing activity vehicle as defined in Oregon law. Vehicles may only be used for exhibitions, parades, club activities and similar uses.
Plate Fees: $12 (one plate issued).
Available For: Passenger Vehicles, Motor Homes, Buses, Mopeds, Motorcycles, Trucks, Travel Trailers, Campers, Special Use Trailers, Heavy Trailers and Light Trailers.
** I get frustrated because the CR fits into the two bolded fields.

Look on the bright side Ira, in 2033 it will be eligible. I don't know about other states "collector" plates, but here they are downright ugly even allowing for the cheaper cost!

WA DOL pretty much states the same thing but THIRTY YEARS
Collector plates are basic WA background with small print next to plate number reading "collector vehicle"
I emailed them anyway. I even recomended that there be a new plate "Modern Day Collector". Why not? Bicyclist and square dancers get special plates!!!!!
