Default What are the best brakes?

Ok so what brake kit should I get? I for sure want either slotted or drilled so Brembos are my first choice but they are too expensive. I want spiffy looking brakes but most of all I want them to work well. This car is my everyday summer car. What do you guys think?

Everyday summer car, then stock brakes. You're not going to notice a big improvement (if any) with BBK's during street use.

If you're doing it for the bling-bling, get some Spoon monoblock's and call it a day. Or, look into the Stoptech ST40 kit.

Yep, stock brakes work amazingly well with upgraded brake pads. If you upgrade your brakes to a big brake kit, you will need wheels to fit.

For "spiffy looking" my first choice would be the cheapest blanks you can find + a drill press. Now you have "spiffy looking" cross drilled rotors!

You could draw some holes in with a Sharpie

the thread's title is very misleading.
"spiffy looking" /= "the best".

Drilled rotors are just street bling and slotted rotors are only going to chew up your pad life even sooner

As everyone said bbk will not yield any street performance improvement and will require spacers or new wheels to fit

Best bang for your buck new blank rotors + performance pads minimum try hawk hps or project mu hc 800

Ohhhh and braided lines and some kind of low moisture absorption brake fluid... Most importantly a good bleed
