Hey all

I can’t seem to find a definitive answer so here I am. My VSA is super finicky now after I installed my Ohlins. Drop is what I would call pretty conservative- not even an inch. While cornering mild corners the VSA kicks on when this has never happened with stock suspension. Even happens sometimes when accelerating hard while turning into a normal turn. I have always driven spiritedly in the twisties and have never had this issue with stock dampers and springs. Tires are wheels are all the same as before. Is this something I should be worried about? What is everyone else’s experience? Thanks!!

You sure you didn't damage an abs sensor or abs ring upon installation?

I can’t say for sure that I didn’t but I was pretty careful. Had the car aligned and the performance shop didn’t say anything… would they have known if they saw it? I’ll check though… not sure what to look for but I’ll see lol

it doesn’t happen ALL the time or else I would be super worried. It only happens sometimes but like I said, I haven’t changed my driving style and stock dampers never gave me any traction issues.

the standard Ohlins 10 clicks were too firm for my roads so I’m running 12-13. I’d say that’s pretty soft, right? I’m just wondering if anyone else has had this issue with the DFVs or is it just me? It’s frustrating for sure

Try softer,mine are as soft as i can get them,very comfy,
try as soft as possible and harden them until you get it the way you like. Mine is about 18 from full stiff atm ithink ?
Springs used and spring preload all factor in ?

Everything seems to be working as it should. It appears you're just losing traction in situations where you weren't before.

The problem you're trying to solve is that you're losing traction too easily on one end of the car. Either its understeering, oversteering, or there's a wheel speed differential.

Assuming you're driving the same way you were before, start with simple.

Has it gotten colder? Any changes with the tires? Are you sure the rear tires/wheels ended up on the rear of the car?

Did you align the car after installing the coilovers?

Hard to say exactly what the "problem" is. It might just be a matter of VSA being "restrictive" and not liking too much/fast rotation that you are now getting with the coilovers. For tracked cars it's common for VSA to need to be disabled. When I switched to a square setup I now have to disable VSA after starting the car as the car turns in very sharply/quickly that it engages VSA. Not a big deal, just turn it off.

Alignment done after installing the new suspension? Maybe those dynamics are affecting the way it's handling now.
