Suspension problem from track accident
Hi guys,
I had a recent off at Thunderhill and went into the ditch out of turn 6. Most of the impact was to the passenger side front and rear wheels. The car is still driveable, but wanted to check if any suspension components were damaged. I took the car to an alignment shop and they were not able to get the car into the specs I had before. They said they couldn't see any visible damage to the suspension, and that I just needed to replace the ball joints in order to get the correct amount of camber and toe that I requested. Do you guys think that new ball joints are the the solution to this problem? I don't know if anything else could have been bent that maybe he just couldn't visually see.
I requested the following specs:
Front Camber: -1.5
Front Toe: 1/8" out
Rear Camber: -2
Rear Toe: 1/8" in
Caster: Max
Here is the read out from the alignment guy:

I think you need a better alignment shop.
At the front, there's no real side-to-side difference in the adjusted numbers, which you'd expect if there were damage. They probably just maxed out caster first then tried to get the camber and toe? The adjustments aren't independent -- if you max out camber first, then caster tops out around 5.5-6.0.
The right rear might have some damage if they can't even get it to zero camber.
