Strut/Spring Combo

Strut/Spring Combo
I have an AP2 with 50k that I mostly just drive on the weekends. I may track it once or twice a year in the future but now I live in Hawaii where there are no tracks. Im looking maybe to drop it about 1-1.5 inches and slightly improve the handling. Ive had coilovers in past cars but never adjusted the height after the initial install. My budget is about $1000-$1500. What is a good set of strut/springs or coilovers in this range? Like I said this is mostly a weekend car and not a track monster.

If you're going with coilovers, the TEIN Street Flex fall within your budget. They are one of the more comfortable coilover systems I have experienced and are fully adjustable.

Another great coilover setup that would be more budget friendly is the ST Speedtechs. They are very similar to the KW systems, with the main difference being the shock body is made of galvanized steel instead of stainless steel. The damping for these coilovers is preset from the factory, but you can adjust ride height which is great. I know you said you never touched your vehicle ride height after install, but it may be a great feature to have just in case. We have them available on our website for $847.87 not including shipping.

Well coilovers by design are a more rigid structure, so I typically recommend them for people who want a more performance oriented setup. The great thing about coilovers is that you have the ability to adjust ride height and damping to your preference. It really comes down to a matter of preference and what your budget is.
