Rear suspension problem *help*
i swapped out my suspension today, but i have one problem on the rear section. i am unable to get the bolt back in due to the control arm lifting up. the lower part of the shock does not align where the bolt needs to go. i attached this pic as reference. it's the exact bolt he is working on in the pic.

Thats expected. Put the 14mm nuts back on the top hats in the trunk.
I forget, but you either have a friend push down the hub/lca by stepping on the brake caliper and pushing down in order to get the bolt hole to line up.
So either step on it to push it down or pull up the hub with your hands while somebody puts the bolt in.

Yep, multi task it. 2 ways to do it:
#1 loosen the 2 top 14mm nuts from the top of the strut that hold the strut to the body. Align and push in the 17mm bolt thru the bottom LCA/strut. Use jack to raise strut to the top body so you can re- install the top 14mm nuts.
#2Leave the top 14mm nuts on top. Put your foot on top of the caliper while crouching and use insert the 17mm bolt through LCA/strut when you get the holes to align up.

I had that problem when I took the coilovers off my civic before I traded it in for the s2k.
I was by my self so what i did was hook up the top hat almost the whole way, leave a bit of play so you can move it if need be. Then use your chest and arm on the inside fender to push down on the hub assembly while trying to finagle the bolt through the bottom of the shock and lca. lol

i ended up having to get my boss to come over to my house after work and help me out. i dont' think it could have been done unless he was there. he was too light when standing on the caliper, so i had to stand on it. i was heavy enough to bring it down to align.
looks like i'm going to the gym in a lowered car tomorrow! lol

FYI, for those who get stuck like this in the future, try using your stock jack and a piece of wood or something at least 4" thick.
I was stuck like this when putting my monoflex in, so i placed the stock jack on top of the flat part of the A arm and placed a piece of wood on top and raised the jack up until the wood hit the top of the inside of the fender well. A few turns of the jack and i could easily put the bolt in. Didn't do any damage to the A arm or fenderwell (the force needed to push down on the suspension isn't much, just hard to do by yourself while trying to put the bolt in at the same time).
